For the week ending October 26, U.S. rail carload and intermodal volumes reported annual increases, as per the Association of American Railroads (AAR). Rail carloads reached 228,829, marking a 0.9% rise, with seven out of ten carload commodity groups showing gains, particularly in motor vehicles, chemicals, and farm products. However, coal and metallic ores experienced declines. Intermodal containers and trailers grew by 6.9% to 290,586 units. Year-to-date, rail carloads are down 3.2%, while intermodal units have increased by 8.9%.
