Britten-Norman, the manufacturer of the Islander aircraft, has achieved a significant milestone by progressing over 50% in the assembly of its first UK-built Islander at its Bembridge facility on the Isle of Wight. This shift to local production, backed by new investments and a workforce expansion of over 40%, marks the return of full aircraft manufacturing to the UK. With the wing assembly expected to finish this year and final assembly slated for early 2026, the company aims to enhance support for operators and meet the strong demand for Islanders, which continue to serve essential services globally.
