3M has appointed Torsten Pilz, formerly of Honeywell, as the new head of its supply chain, succeeding Peter Gibbons, who will retire on April 2. Pilz, who has extensive experience in supply chain management from roles at SpaceX and Amazon, will begin in his new position in the coming months. 3M aims to improve its delivery service levels, with an on-time in-full (OTIF) rate target above 90%. The company is focusing on refining demand planning, enhancing supplier performance, and leveraging new technologies to address existing inefficiencies within its supply chain.
